After days of brainstorming and research, You have finalized a perfect brand name for your dream project only to know that the domain name is already taken and is for sale.

The best thing you can do now is to negotiate with the seller and buy the domain before your competitor gets it.

But what if you don't have the budget for the domain name?

If you currently don't have the budget and are willing to buy that domain in the future then understand that the domain may or may not be for sale in the future, If it is for sale price won't be the same.

By understanding the risk you can explore other domain extensions.

Example: If your brand name is Happy and Happy.com is taken try other top domain extensions like .org, .net, .co, .io, .in etc...

But what if all the top domain extensions are also taken?

You can either find a different brand name where the domain name is also available or add a keyword after your brand name.

Example: If your brand name is Happy try HappyLife.com or Happypeople.com keep it relevant to your business or industry HappyCare.com or HappyPharma.com or Happytour.com or Happygym.com and so on.

Avoid adding a prefix like TryHappy.com or LiveHappy.com or ProHappy.com etc... If your brand name is Happy don't add a prefix it is better to keep your brand name first and then add a keyword suffix that is fit for your business and also helps in ranking your site.

Later when you have the budget you can upgrade to Happy.com.
